A new design
What we know of the boat is as follows. Grand Soleil forsook the 47 GS hull designed by Marcelino Botin and instead went with a completely new design, one by Marco Lostuzzi of Sly yachts. This new hull weighs about 11 tons which, compared to some other yachts in the long cruise class, this weight would put it at the lighter end of the spectrum.
Luxury interior
There is quite a bit of room inside as well, with three total cabins; owners cabin fore and two guest cabins aft. Two toilets, a salon mid ships with an excellent view and a full kitchen finish off the interior rooms. Topside the Grand Soleil 46 Long Cruise has a fairly large cockpit with cockpit table, a fold down swim platform and dedicated space for a life raft. For days when the wind is not cooperating, a 75 hp Volvo Penta comes as standard equipment. It gives the Grand Soleil 46 Long Cruise a cruising speed of about 9 knots.
