In May 2015, the latest coupe, the 88 Domino Super, born from the collaboration of designers and engineers from Riva, Officina Italiana Design and Ferretti, was presented to an admiring public in Monte Carlo. Less than 2 months after, 3 Domino Super have already been sold, this is a great start and not a surprise! Indeed, the vessel results from an innovative, ambitious, redesigning of and improving upon an earlier successful model, the 86 Domino, which was sold world-wide. With accommodation for eight guests and a crew of two, the 88 Domino Super is expected to raise the standards for performance, passenger comfort and elegance.
Measuring 26.70 meters (87.7’) in length and with a 6.30 meter beam, the 88 Domino Super will grab the attention of yachting enthusiasts with its streamlined dynamic shape, emphasized in 2 shades of grey. The hull is a dark grey, a shade called London Grey; while the lighter Moon Grey of the superstructure provides a pleasing contrast. Highlighting the continuous glazing of the hull, is a stainless steel plate with Riva’s logo.
88 Domino Super: Engines and Performance
The 88 Domino Super has 2 MTU 16V 2000 M93, 2435 Mhp engines, which give a maximum speed of 38 knots and a cruising speed of 34 knots. As a more powerful alternative, 2 MTU 16V 2000 M94, 2638 Mph will increase the maximum speed to 40 knots and the cruising speed to 35 knots.
Guest comfort and enjoyment
Important features of the redesign include a large sundeck, which contributes to the yacht’s sportiness and provides a comfortable environment for guests to relax and a smaller pilot station in the centre of the coupe. The relocation of the pilot station provides space at the yacht’s bow in which a larger sofa is now located.
The redesign of the yacht’s aft area provides greater passenger comfort and easier work for the crew. Additional options include two Seakeeper stabilisers, which ensure comfort at all times, and an aft propeller, which make mooring simpler.
The transom serves as a useful diving board, which can be fully lowered into the water. It also makes the launching of tenders easier. Resembling a luxurious outdoor living room, the cockpit, furnished with 2 sofas, one of which faces the dining table, is situated close to the transom. Stored in the base of the table are six foldable outdoor chairs. Also located in the cockpit is a cabinet with a sink, an icemaker and a storage cupboard.
Luxury Main deck
Access to the interior lounge and dining room lies through a glass door. With a beautiful view of the water, the lounge demonstrates Riva’s
elegant sophisticated style and attention to detail. With LED lighting, natural light from the continuous glazing and fixtures and furnishings of wood, leather and stainless steel, the lounge is sure to delight guests.
The dining area’s leather and glass table can seat eight people comfortably. While dining, guests can view a wall-mounted television. Two low cabinets provide ample storage for glasses and tableware.
Bright and airy lower deck
With two windows in the hull and portholes,the full-beam master cabin is bright and airy.
Furniture includes a low cabinet, a desk, walk-in wardrobe and a double bed located in front of a wall-mounted television. Other free-standing furniture units can be chosen by the yacht’s owner to complete the decor. The newly designed bathroom contains two Capannoli sinks with Ritmonio taps and a separate shower room.
Situated behind the master cabin are two cabins with twin beds for the crew. This location provides direct access to the engine room, the washing machine and the galley. An optional dryer can be installed.
The three guest cabins feature en-suite bathrooms, ensuring that all guests are accommodated in comfort.
