The Dufour 460 Grand Large is the successor of the extraordinary Dufour 445 and 450 GL. As would be expected of the latest vessel from Dufour Yachts, the 460 GL is a yacht that combines exquisite levels of comfort with an impressive level of performance.
Designed by Italian expert Umberto Felci, in conjunction with the Dufour development team, this is a yacht that represents harmony and the core values that are associated with the widely respected Dufour range.
The exterior: a majestic new hull
The majestic new hull has specifically been designed to optimise the space available, providing greater width than would usually be available on a craft of this size. As you would expect, real attention has also been paid to maximising performance levels, with the hull offering an outline that allows the 460 GL to cut through the water at speed.
This is a yacht that is perfect for cruising, or for those looking to move at a greater pace.
The deck areas reflect a desire to combine maximum space with the need to provide a seamless on-board experience. A fixed bowsprit is used within the standard version of this vessel, enabling the efficient mounting and manoeuvring of downwind sails. This is a yacht that has been designed to perform in a wide range of wind and weather conditions.
Attention has also been paid to ensuring that it can be crewed in a safe manner at all times.
A spacious cockpit area
The roof is larger than that on earlier models in the range, creating an enlarged cockpit area and a spacious main deck. The cockpit is both elegant and functional, reflecting a style of cockpit that might usually be associated with larger vessels.
It is divided into two distinct areas, offering both navigation and lounge sections. A fully equipped exterior galley offers a barbecue, sink and concealed freezer. There is also an ample cockpit table and a selection of sun loungers.
The interior is unique
The interior of the 460 GL reveals a unique layout, with the galley located at the front of the yacht. Care has been taken to maximise the size of the saloon area. It’s possible to comfortably seat 8 guests around the table. On the port side, an integrated bench helps to create additional useable space.
Below deck, the master cabin continues the theme of combining functionality with space and comfort. Large wardrobes and drawers ensure that there is plenty of storage space, reflecting the fact that the 460 GL is a perfect cruising vessel. The head has been separated into two distinct spaces. The first provides a shower and washbasin, with the other used to provide both a toilet and washbasin.
Throughout the craft, the creative use of lighting ensures that there is an appealing environment. LED lights have been placed under benches and surrounding the wardrobes, increasing the range of lighting options and helping to produce a warm, ambient atmosphere when the 460 GL is at anchor.
