Welcome on board the OVNI 400 built by Alubat shipyard in Les Sables d’Olonne. This 12,90m long and 4,35m wide sailboat is dedicated to blue water cruising. This is a lifting keel yacht with a draught of 0,98m keel up and 2,88m keel down. This boat has been designed by Mortain & Mavrikios naval architects. She is different with a new line. For a safe navigation, you can completely close the cockpit. A Batyline fabric prevents objects from falling. This davit system allows a smart and efficient tender storage. Your tender is shifted from the transom for launch. This aluminum davit is a part of the aluminum aft arch. The arch is a support for your communication equipment and accessories like solar panels, iridium antennas or wind generator. Two LED lights and welded cleats are integrated to this arch.
On a blue water cruising boat, the cockpit is an important area, where you manage the sailing manoeuvres, active watch and where you enjoy eating and relaxing. The OVNI 400 cockpit has been designed in this philosophy: safe, comfortable, spacious. The composition of the cockpit is ergonomic. Two helm stations with an access to the bathing platform. These two helm stations offer a good visibility forward and on the sides for manoeuvring the boat in the marina. From the helm station, you can control all your navigation equipment, the engine throttle and the bow thruster.
We have decided to place the winches inside the cockpit for manoeuvring the sails while steering. It allows also a better position for the manoeuvres. Still at the helm station, you can manage the keel position, up and down. Led lights indicate the position of the keel. You can move around safely while sailing with handrails and attachment points for lifelines.
The main sail aluminum arch can support a textile sprayhood or an aluminum dog house. This also allows a comfortable watch. On the OVNI 400, all the manoeuvres are centralised in the cockpit for your safety. On coachroof, you manage the genoa and the mainsail halyards returns, the mainsail sheets and the reefs. Storage for the sheets is integrated. Easy opening sliding Plexiglas door, welded handrails will secure your movements to the forward deck. Large gangways, the rigging position and the solent traveller position make the circulation easier. In standard, the OVNI 400 is equipped with a mainsail and a solent. In the long range cruise philosophy, 4 mast steps are installed for reaching the mainsail and 2 mast steps are at the top. Enjoy the sunbath mattresses on the deck. And for your safety, footrest is integrated.
On a long range cruise boat, a spacious sails locker is necessary for your sails, mooring lines and fender. The OVNI 400 has a large self-draining chain locker. The long aluminum bow nose is a support for the anchor and your downwind sails. On the OVNI 400 we can also install a storm jib or a staysail on furler or on removable forestay. The inverted and rounded bow promises a very spacious living area while keeping seaworthiness and performance. The forward watertight bulkhead is used as a crashbox in case of impact. All the deck cleats are welded and bolted.
Welcome inside the OVNI 400. The access to the saloon is convenient with three steps and integrated handrails. The engine access is under the companionway, easy to open with door bolts and 2 cylinders, for engine maintenance.
Here is a 2 cabin version with aft head and aft technical room on starboard. This boat is very cosy, she is insulated in standard. She is very light and offers a nice visibility thanks to the panoramic roof with opening portholes. The chart table reveals many storage areas.
The navigation station is functional especially with all the electronic devices. The electric control panel is modern with a remote control via smartphone or tablet. You can switch on the light of your boat from your tender when you come on board by night for example. Inside, you always have the possibility to manage it manually. High quality electric installation with an electric leak detector.
Facing forward, this chart table has a red and white LED light. Here you can also integrate a TV screen facing the saloon. The U-shape saloon is very comfortable with deep seating. Many storages under the seats. The access to the centreboard casing is under the opposite seat. If you need to manage the centreboard manually, the access is easy. The saloon is pleasant and even sitting, you always have a nice view outside. The table can completely open up and become an additional double berth.
The aft cabin on port side is also equipped with wardrobe, storage under the berth and a shelf on hull side. All cabins have LED reading lights with a USB socket and always an efficient ventilation with the opening portholes. This closure flap is a clever system. The head is spacious with a separate shower and a rack for sailing clothes. Easy to clean, the composite flooring is made of one single part. Many storage areas and good ventilation have also been well thought.
Another important point is the headroom of 1,96m, which is the average headroom in this boat. In the aft storage locker located starboard of the companionway. You can add different equipment like a generator or a watermaker. We can arrange this space as per your wishes: storage, berth, workshop… The advantage of this storage locker is the double access from the cockpit and from the inside. Here is the access to the twin rudders with self-aligning bearings. Like in this aft storage locker, dorade boxes also ventilate the boat, 2 forward and 2 aft.
